The Golf Club at Cypress Head is owned by the City of Port Orange and managed by Kemper Sports. This public course offers a private and tranquil experience with it's superb conditions and beautiful wetlands setting. Build in 1993 by Arthur Hill and Mike Dasher, the course has stood the test of time enviromentally. Although the site for the course was relatively level, the architects used moundings and countours to give players the feeling of elevation. Players find a lot of tree-lined fairways and plenty of water obstacles with fourteen of the eighteen holes involving water. Cypress Head is widley praised for it's reasonable rates and excellent course conditions. The very popular course is also known by tournament players and resident players as the course to play, again and again. It is evident that the architects laid out the course amid the cypress forest and natural Florida wetlands with great care for the land. The course is medium length (6832 yards from the tips) and a 73.1/139 slop rating creating a challenging round that play differently day to day depending on the strength of breezes coming in from the ocean. So after playing one round, you'll want to play again and again!
