Easterlin Park

Add to plan Remove from plan

Broward County's first inland regional park is known for its heavily wooded campground, which features 55 sites. Of those, 45 are full-hookup RV sites that offer 20-, 30-, and 50-amp service, fresh water, and sewers; six of the 10 tent sites provide fresh water and electricity only. Picnic tables and grills are available at all sites, and there is a dump station, as well as two restroom facilities with heated showers. The park is shielded from surrounding developed areas by buffers of this wild coffee, ferns, dahoon holly, cabbage palms, oaks, and red maples. Cypress trees estimated at 100 feet tall and up to 250 years old are common in the 46.6-acre park, which is also home to such wildlife as ducks and geese and squirrels. The park has been designated an Urban Wilderness Area. Other amenities include a playground and the roughly one-mile Woodland Nature Trail, which winds through the cypress forest. There is one medium picnic shelter (capacity 41-60) with grills, water, electricity, and picnic tables; additional tables and grills are located in shaded areas near the park's entrance. Visitors are also invited to play volletball, disc golf, and horseshoes. The park has a gate entrance fee of $1.50 per person (children 5 and under free) in effect on weekends and holidays. Easterlin is also accessible via Broward County Transit Route #14.
