Firehouse Community Theatre, Inc.

Add to plan Remove from plan

Through a passion for the arts and a desire to see them blossom right here in LaBelle, the Firehouse Community Theatre was born in 1993.  When the local nearby theatre closed, a group of active players began working to ensure that theatre would not fold in our area as well.  Mayor Sherri Craichy informed the group that the old fire station owned by the City of LaBelle was sitting empty and might be utilized as a theatre.  The idea was received with an enthusiasm that still radiates today.
At that time, the old firehouse building was really a garage.  But volunteers rolled up their sleeves, pulled out their hammers, and began the transformation from garage to theatre.  The Firehouse Community Theatre  opened within weeks and Jennifer Jarret's first play ever, DIVORCE SOUTHERN STYLE (a comedy), became history!
Since then, we have managed to feature more plays, talent shows, and Summer Youth Programs, all while keeping our sights set on our audience, our community and our future.  We offer 5 shows a season, all appropriate for the family.  We are a true community theatre working with all volunteers!  Our slogan is "It's not Broadway, It's Bridge Street!"
