Florida isa land of natural wonders. From the world's only Everglades to the sparkling white quartz dunes of Northwest Florida, the Sunshine State hosts an incredible diversity of habitats. Winding its way through forests of dwarf cypress, tangled thickets of saw palmetto, open prairies bursting with wildflowers, and deep ravines lined with mountain laurel and rhododendron, the Florida National Scenic Trail (FNST) enables visitors to explore landscapes found nowhere else in the nation.Including side trails and alternate routes, the FNST stretchesmore than 1,500 miles acrossFlorida. It can be accessed viatrailheadsand gateway communities along its entire length, offering the traveler opportunities for short trips or extended backpacking excursions. This Florida and national treasure isone of only eleven National Scenic Trails in America. The FNST is managed by the U.S. Forest Service, in partnership with the Florida Trail Association and other managers.
