Fort Clinch State Park

Add to plan Remove from plan

Fort Clinch State Park in the northeast corner of Florida encompasses 1,400 acres of maritime hammock, live oak-lined hiking and biking trails and beautiful beaches along the north tip of Fernandina. Plus, 62 campsites for RV or tent camping offer a variety of opportunities to experience nature and history.

The park is also home to Civil War-era Fort Clinch, which had strategic importance during the Civil War. Guests can explore the historic fort, attend living history programs or experience a reenactment of life at the fort during the live cannon firing and battlefield skills demos on the first Saturday of the month.

For visitors with disabilities:
- All of the park's beach access boardwalks and building are ADA-accessible with several viewing platforms along the boardwalks. The park has standard and all-terrain wheelchairs available for guests with mobility issues. Please contact the park in advance to reserve this equipment.
- There are two fully accessible campsites in the River Campground and all Atlantic Beach campsites have solid surfacing with accessible routes to the restroom facilities.
- Not all areas of the fort are accessible. The staff can install ramps throughout the lower level of the fort. Please contact the visitor staff upon arrival.
- Sign language interpreters are available for all fort programs with a minimum of two week's notice.
- The park also has a variety of large print brochures that are available upon request.
