City of Jacksonville Oceanfront Park.  Natural resource management includes 1.5 miles of Atlantic Oceanfront beaches and sand dunes that is active nesting habitat for sea turtles; 480 acres of densely, forested mature coastal hammock; and 60 acres of inland ponds in a designated Fish Management Area.  The park offers a variety of natural resource based recreational opportunities including, salt and fresh water fishing, surfing, kayaking, birding, beach recreation, over 20 miles of hiking and off-road biking trails. Active recreation and rental facilities include picnic shelters, an oceanfront banquet hall, a 293 site campground for tents, RVs, and cabins, a boat concession, playgrounds, volleyball, an event field and a kids splash park.  Permitted events include surf contests, off-road bicycle races, triathlons, running events, astronomy viewings, corporate gatherings, reunions, beach weddings, church picnics, etc.  The park is a very popular recreation site accommodating more than 8,500 patrons in a given day averaging over 400,000 customers per year.  Hanna Park is a seven day a week operation, 365 days a year.  reservations taken up to 360 days in advance.  Permits required 30 days in advance for groups or equipment set-up.
