PGHS is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization - we own six (6) Historic buildings on three (3) properties in Punta Gorda of which two are on the National Historic Registry. The Woman's Club, 118 Sullivan Street, Punta Gorda FL dated 1926 serves as a community center through rentals for the community. The Historic Train Depot, 1009 Taylor Rd., Punta Gorda FL dated 1928 is leased to Downtown Kava and features Coffees, healthy drinks. In the evening it serves as a non-alcoholic speakeasy and entertainment facility for the community. History Park, 501 Shreve Street, Punta Gorda houses four (4) historic buildings that shaped the birth of Punta Gorda. We host Music in the Park on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month from October through June. These are donation only events to support the ongoing maintenance of our buildings. The Park also hosts the History Park Sunday Market from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. year-round. Three of our onsite Park buildings house, the Peace River Woodturners; Visual Arts Center Fiber Arts and SWFL Potters Guild. These three buildings are open to the public on Sundays during market hours. You can't beat the setting!
